Effect of Feldenkrais Method on Autism

The method was founded as a way to attain optimally efficient movement mechanics to prevent or recover from injury, but its applications have broadened to include the treatment of autism, ADD/ADHD, and many other mental and physical diseases.
Feldenkrais was developed based on the natural developmental process in children. It emphasizes

  • learning to learn
  • fostering the mind-body connection
  • promoting relaxation

It has also been shown to reduce depression and anxiety, which often occur alongside autism.1
