Do your research. I know this may be hard at this point, but sometimes proven modalities are good and sometimes research studies are good; disease cures are often found in research studies and therefore cannot be disregarded just because they have not been proven (often the research is not quite there, or only in primitive stages- don't disregard this, it is important to current studies and future studies). Getting the diagnoses of cancer no matter what it is, and what stage it is...is very hard and you want to throw your hand up. DONT!! There is support out there for you and weather "proven" or "research", they have your best interest at heart. Try visiting Clinicaltrials.gov for any research studies that pertain to your diagnosis. God be with you, and grant you strength and courage in your battle.

Commented on Melanoma Treatment: Medicine 6 years ago

I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 2002... stage IV + lymph nodes. I had surgical removal of tumor and lymph dissection (revealing + lymph nodes). I received interferon treatment for a year (sub Q, QOD) and am living and well 11 + years later. I do not go to the doctor regularly (in fact only when things aren't well), but I have had biopsy's done of "other spots" and all is well at this point in time. Don't give up hope!!
