Effect of Fluids on Gout
Drinking plenty of fluids can help flush uric acid from the body. Also, it can help control and prevent the recurrence of gout attacks.
It is recommended that people drink around 8 cups of water daily. This does not include other beverages like milk, juices, coffee, tea or alcohol.
For every cup of caffeinated beverage that you drink, it is recommended that you also drink 1 and 1/2 cups of water (or herbal tea) to keep you from becoming dehydrated.
