I have had it done 3 times and this last time it only held for 4 days then my problem became worse than it had ever been. I've opted to have a bladder sling and I'll have to cath but I won't have Coaptite done again.

My experience is excellent. Mimimal discomfort for the procedure and shortly after, then great results so far. 3 months and very little leakage such that I forget about it almost entirely whereas it was always on my mind and limiting my activities previously.

I don't even take a pain med or anxiety med before the procedure. The numbing medicine helps the cystoscopy procedure. You have a pinch with each injection. I usually have 2-3 injections. They last ones lasted me for 2 years. I stay extremely dry and can do strenuous activities without worry. Also I don't have to wear the bulky pads that made me self conscious and made me feel old. It is well worth the procedure. There is no down time afterwards. If you have cramps tylenol or ibuprophen can handle the pain later. Very tolerable without pain medications.

Im 39, I recently decided to fix an incontinence problem I have been dealing for years and took it upon myself to seek a specialist to fix it, (Boy do I regret it!)I had 2 injections in each side 3 weeks ago, and I still cannot urinate on my own. I have a cath in which not only is it uncomfortable its painful, spasms hurt so bad my whole body stiffens up.................its 2am and I am still up. I do not recommend this to anyone especially mothers that have small children they need to care for. The spasms feel like contractions, several times a day, everyday!!!Im on antibiotics which gave me a yeast infection, and to top it off (HEMRROIDS FROM PUSHING) GROSS I KNOW IT!!!!Sitting here praying that my doctor can at least get me back to my old self (LEAK AND ALL!!!!!!)Ironic went in with a leaky faucet and now it wont open at all! CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR LADIES, AFTER THIS IF I RECOVER I WILL NEVER....EVER..........DO THIS S@@T AGAIN!

Am just 4 days post procedure and am experiencing urinary retention. My physician says this is normal and due to swelling. Currently having to straight cath at home. Am extremely sore and worried about the risk of infection. Am not 2 weeks post procedure and have full blown urinary incontinence. Worse than simple slight stress leakage that I had first been seen for. Wearing depends 24/7.

I had the Coaptite Injection and it was painful when they did it. I thought it would help me but im still leaking. I dont know what to do. I will not have another one coaptite injection, because it to painful to go through the procedure and still leaks after going threw it. Then i found out that you would have to repeat the procedure from time to time. by Margarita.M

HAD INJECTION 6 WEEKS AGO. NO PAIN. SO FAR NO PROBLEM. MY SURGEON TOLD ME IT MIGHT NOT TOTALLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT HAS NOT BUT I AM 90% BETTER. I WAS WEARING TENA PADS DAY AND NIGHT. EVEN URINATED WHILE HAVING SEX. (GROSS I KNOW.) THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER. I WAS ALSO TOLD IN A PERFECT WORLD THIS WILL LAST ONE YEAR. I WILL HAVE IT DONE AGAIN WHEN NECESSARY. I HAVE CONFIDENCE IN MY DOCTOR.

I'm 45 and I was having to wear the biggest pose pads. I went thru 4 - 5 a day, urine constantly ran out of me. I had the injection done yesterday, with total success, so far I've had no problems leaking, not even when sneezing and coughing. I have an awesome doctor also, he knows his stuff.

My experience has been negative. My surgeon did not tell me until the morning of the procedure that there was a chance I'd retain urine and need to go home w/ a catheter. That's what happened. I was unable to void for about 3 hours after surgery and it took them forever to do an ultrasound and give me a catheter. I had over 500 mls of liquid in my bladder, and was in a great deal of pain until catheterized. Had to keep the cath in for the whole weekend until I could see my doctor again. My urinary stress incontinence has been WORSE since having this done. Furious with my surgeon for not mentioning this possibility. Furious with terrible care I got after the surgery at Seton Hospital in Austin, TX. Terrible nurse ignored my pain for over three hours and joked about it, saying, "It's just an injection".

nO don't do it ! After the operation it lasted for about three weeks then I became incontinent again, now all I do is have a great deal of pain. Sometimes I am incontinent sometimes I'm not but it was incredibly painful. I do not wish to go through this again. I had mesh removed, and a bladder sling made of my own tissue. I am calling the doctor due to increased pain. My stream is very slow and I have a feeling of pressure most of the Time.

I had this done in March and have had severe cramps ever since. It is now October and sometimes I double over in pain. I have been to 4 specialists and they can't find out what is wrong with me. I lost over 25 lbs and have gained 5 lbs back. I had a severe infection in my uretha but still have the cramps and nausea 24 hours a day. I am down to 1 pain pill a day and try to function as best as possible.
Do not have these coaptite surgery you will never be the same again.
