• This medicine does not mix well with some medicines. Serious reactions may occur. Check all medicines with healthcare provider.
• Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 6 years of age.
• If you have an allergy to magnesium hydroxide, mineral oil, or any other part of this medicine.
• Tell healthcare provider if you are allergic to any medicine. Make sure to tell about the allergy and how it affected you. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other symptoms involved.
• If you have trouble swallowing or are unable to stand or sit up.
• If you are pregnant or may be pregnant.
• Magnesium hydroxide softens the stool by increasing its water content.
• Mineral oil lubricates the intestinal tract.
• It softens the stool.
• Take this medicine at bedtime. Do not lie down while taking this medicine.
• Take this medicine on an empty stomach. Take 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
• Shake well before use.
• Drink plenty of noncaffeine-containing liquid unless told to drink less liquid by healthcare provider.

• This medicine may be habit-forming with long-term use.
• If you have kidney disease, talk with healthcare provider.
• Do not use this medicine for longer than 1 week unless directed by healthcare provider.
• Check medicines with healthcare provider. This medicine may not mix well with other medicines.
• Tell healthcare provider if you are breast-feeding.
• Belly pain.
• Diarrhea.
• Nausea or vomiting. Small frequent meals, frequent mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help.
• If you suspect an overdose, call your local poison control center or emergency department immediately.
• Signs of a life-threatening reaction. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue skin color; fits; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Difficulty breathing.
• Severe belly pain.
• Severe nausea or vomiting.
• Severe constipation.
• Severe diarrhea.
• Bleeding from rectum or rectal pain.
• Any rash.
• No improvement in condition or feeling worse.
