Shared experience with Bone Marrow Biopsy 13 years ago

I had a bone marrow aspiration and biopsy done, as my oncologist suspects I may have leukemia. I arrived at the hospital and after a few minutes went to pre-op where they inserted an IV, drew blood, etc. I talked to the DR prior to the procedure, and the anesthesiologist. The DR explained that they would be doing the biopsy in my back hip, and it would be CT guided. He said it can be very uncomfortable, and it was decided that I would be put to sleep for the procedure. I was wheeled to a room with a cat scan machine, and placed on the ct bed on my stomach, I was told that I would be scanned for them to get the exact right spot to do the procedure, and that I would get lidocaine injected at the site, I was hooked up to a monitor, and there were quite a few people in the room, the anesthesiologist injected meds into my iv, and the next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery. They kept me in recovery for three hours, my backside was very sore, and they told me about the possible risks, including excessive bleeding. Since I have been home the large bandage they applied to the site has become completely blood soaked, and I bled through my underwear and pants. If it keeps bleeding like this tomorrow I will call my Dr. Other than that, the procedure was a breeze as I was out during it.
