I have found that Bach Flower Remedies are particularly effective for animals and children, perhaps because they do not have deeply ingrained emotional patterns. The remedies are subtle and most adults will need to keep taking them over several weeks or months to see results. However, I've seen animals respond almost instantly. A dog who was afraid to come out of her kennel for several days joyfully came out to play within half an hour of taking Mimulus. A lethargic cat returned to normal immediately after taking Rescue Remedy.
The results are probably just as dramatic in adult humans, but we have so many layers of emotional damage that it takes repeated use of the correct remedies to notice the results. They are safe, inexpensive, and have no side effects, so there is no reason not to try them before resorting to more expensive treatments.
