  • You are unsure of how to care for your drain
  • Drainage is greenish in color or has a bad smell
  • Significant bleeding from the drain
  • Pain at the incision
  • Fever or chills
  • End of the tube comes out of the incision

In case of an emergency, CALL 911.

I recently had a an axillary node resection, with a JP drain inserted. After the first week, i started getting joint pain and muscle pain. I am a Breast Cancer survivor. My initial mastectomy was back in June. Yesterday, my drain was removed and within 12 hrs my joint and muscle pains are gone. I thought it was the gabapentin for my neuropathy but I guess not. Jen
