Proton Pump Inhibitors Usage

Proton pump inhibitors are used for treating GERD, erosive esophagitis, stomach and duodenal ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. They may be prescribed alone, or in combination with antacids. PPIs are also used in combination with antibiotics when treating Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, which is thought contribute to recurring stomach ulcers.
