Is there any specific changes to one's diet that can be made to resolve sleep apnea?

From what I have read, the dietary changes needed are similar to those needed for getting healthy in general. I read that being overweight effects the neck & trunk area, making it harder to breathe at night. This leads to less rest and reduced motivation for exercise the next day. I know I should try eating less caloric food that is dense in nutritional value... but I feel like I need something specific to start with. Any ideas?
